2027: Jamilu Gwamna to Prioritise Youths, Women — Shawai

By Abubaka Rabilu Gombe

Ibrahim Sani Shawai, spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Gombe State, Dr Jamilu Isyaku Gwamna, has said that improving people’s living conditions and creating opportunities for youths and women are among the candidate’s major priorities ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Shawai said Gwamna intends to build a stronger Gombe State by investing in education, healthcare, job creation and youth skills development, rather than focusing solely on physical infrastructure.

According to him, the candidate believes that sustainable development begins with improving people’s quality of life through access to quality education, healthcare and opportunities for self-reliance.

He said youths and women should be active participants in shaping the state’s future rather than being treated merely as recipients of government policies.

Shawai made this known while outlining the candidate’s vision, noting that Gwamna’s experience in the private sector, as well as his contributions to job creation and support for education and healthcare, had influenced his approach to leadership.

He said, “Building roads and bridges is important, but investing in human capital is what guarantees sustainable development. When education, healthcare and people’s skills are improved, a strong economic foundation is created.”

Shawai also said Gwamna supports the continuation of beneficial policies implemented under the administration of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, while introducing new strategies to address challenges that continue to affect the people of the state.

He described the 2027 election as an opportunity for the people of Gombe to reflect on the kind of leadership they need, particularly in strengthening the economy, creating jobs and expanding opportunities for development.

He added that good governance requires fairness, unity and respect for people’s opinions, stressing that the government should regard citizens as partners in the formulation and implementation of its policies.

Shawai reaffirmed that Gwamna’s vision is to build a state where young people can achieve their ambitions, women can play significant roles in the economy, and every citizen has the opportunity to benefit from development.
