The Nigeria Amalgamated Traders and Artisans Development Association (AMATA), Gombe State chapter, has declared its support for Dr Jamilu Ishiyaku Gwamna and other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The association announced its position through its acting state chairman, Alhaji Sunusi Abdullahi Mairediyo, at a gathering attended by government officials, APC leaders, political groups and other stakeholders.
Mairediyo said the decision was driven by the association’s desire to promote economic development and improve the welfare of traders and artisans across Gombe State.
He noted that traders and artisans played a significant role in creating jobs, sustaining small businesses and contributing to economic growth, stressing the need for policies that would support their activities and expand business opportunities.
He called for increased government support for small-scale enterprises, saying improved access to economic opportunities would strengthen the livelihoods of members and enable them to contribute more to the state’s development.
The AMATA chairman also pledged the association’s readiness to engage with relevant stakeholders to promote the interests of traders and artisans ahead of the 2027 elections.
The endorsement adds the association to groups declaring support for Gwamna and other APC candidates as political activities gather momentum ahead of the polls.
