NECO releases 2026 SSCE results, recorded lowest malpractice.

The National Examinations Council ( NECO) has released the 2026 results recorded lowest in various forms of Examination malpractice of 1,406 candidates as against 3,878 candidates in 2025 which shows a decrease of 63..74 percent.
The registrar and chief Executive of NECO, Professor Datani Ibrahim Wushishi disclosed this at the NECO’S headquarters in Minna, while declaring the release of the 2026 Examination results.
He said the 2036 senior School certificate Examination ( SSCE) internal was conducted in the 36 states of the federation and FCT ,as well as six foreign countries,Benin Republic, Equatorial Guinea,Niger Republic,Cote d’Ivoire,Togo and Saudi Arabia from Monday 15th June to Thursday 23 July 2026.
Professor Dantani further disclosed that the total candidates that sat for the 2026 Examinations is 1,371,992 representing 678,903 out of the,1.378.048 that registered representing 682.352 male and 695.696 of female candidates.
According to the registrar,the number of candidates that have five credits and above,including English Language and Mathematics is 804,948,representing 58.67 percent, while candidates with five Credits and above, irrespective of English Language and Mathematics is 1.162.118 representing 84.700 percent.
He said candidates with special needs ,1,334 sat for the Examinations included the hearing impairent,379 males and 261 females,visual impairment 88 males and 61 females,Albino 46 males and 38 females,autism 55 males and 39 females, while candidates with low vision are 57 males and 79 females, and candidates with adermatoglyphia,119 males and 112 females.
He acknowledged the understanding and cooperation of stakeholders, School owners, principals parents to make the work of the Examination an easy task.
The highlits of the occasion also includes the presentation of laurels to staff who participated in various sporting activities held in Port Harcourt , Rivers State last two months.
