Niger  Targets  Multi-Million  Dollar  Investment Wth ECO Green Industrial  City

The Niger State Ministry of Investment and Private Sector Development has said that it has initiated plans to preserve the state’s forest resources while advancing the establishment of an Eco Green Industrial City aimed at unlocking multi-million dollar investment opportunities.
It stated this in a Press statement issued by the Chief Information Officer of the Ministry,Ismaila Musa and made available to Journalists on Thursday in Minna
According to the statement, the initiative was unveiled during a high-level investment engagement between the ministry and Eco Green Investment Limited, held at the Ministry’s Conference Hall in Minna.
Speaking on behalf of the state government, the Commissioner for Investment, Hon. Alhaji Aminu Suleman Takuma, highlighted the economic viability of the project, noting its potential to generate employment, ensure environmental sustainability, and strengthen the state’s legal and risk management frameworks.
Earlier, the team leader of Eco Green Investment Limited, Mr. Alan Martin, described the company as an integrated investment firm partnering with a United Kingdom-based technical carbon credit company, Granite Climate Capital Limited.
 He explained that their interest in Niger State is driven by its vast forest reserves and expansive arable land.
According to him, the proposed project will focus on developing, implementing, and managing a climate-friendly, self-sustaining smart agricultural processing city within the state.
He further disclosed that the company plans to undertake fully mechanised farming operations alongside the establishment of agro-industrial processing plants.
 These efforts, he said, are expected to drive job creation , enhance food security, support raw material production, stimulate infrastructural development, and boost internally generated revenue
The meeting was attended by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Helen William Umaru, alongside the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Dr. Abubakar Sadiq Musa.
Meanwhile, also in attendance were senior government officials from the Ministry of Investment, the Ministry of Lands, the Office of the Surveyor General, as well as key legal and technical stakeholders.
