In a statement to commemorate this year’s Workers’ Day, Alhaji Usman commended the dedication, resilience and invaluable contributions of civil servants, organised labour and the entire workforce towards the socio-economic progress of Niger State under the leadership of Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago.
“Today, as we join the global community in marking Workers’ Day, I salute the men and women whose daily toil and commitment form the backbone of our dear State’s development. From the classrooms to the farmlands, from our hospitals to the ministries and agencies, your unwavering service continues to drive the ‘Farmer Governor’s’ vision of a prosperous, food-secure and industrious Niger State,” the SSG stated.
He noted that the Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago- led administration, remains deeply committed to workers’ welfare, citing ongoing efforts in capacity building programmes, improvement of working conditions and massive investments in agriculture, infrastructure, education and healthcare sectors that directly impact the lives of workers and their families.
The SSG further highlighted the administration’s collaborative approach with labour unions, emphasising dialogue, mutual respect, and shared goals as the pathway to industrial harmony and accelerated development.
Alhaji Usman urged workers to sustain the spirit of patriotism, hard work and innovation, especially at this critical time when the nation is focusing on economic diversification, food security and human capital development. He called on all to shun indolence and embrace the opportunities presented by the State Government’s various empowerment and agricultural initiatives.
“As we celebrate this year’s Workers’ Day under the declared public holiday by the Federal Government, let us reflect on our collective achievements and rededicate ourselves to building a greater Niger State. The future is bright, and together with our dynamic Governor, we shall realise it,” he said.
