The main support group of the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof Muhammad Ali Pate Gubernatorial aspiration movement, Pate Youths Ambassadors Initiatives (PYI), has announced that the Minister will not be contesting for the party ticket after several calls on him to declare interest in the race.
The group stated that Mohammed Ali Pate has declined the calls, stating that it was not yet time to do so.
The announcement was made vide a statement signed and issued by the Director-General of Pate Youth Ambassadors Initiatives (PYi), Prince Mohammed Sani Hassan, on Monday.
Mohammed Sani Hassan wrote that, “The Pate Youth Ambassadors Initiatives (PYi) extends its heartfelt appreciation to all supporters of Professor Mohammed Ali Pate, CON, across every corner of Bauchi State. Your overwhelming show of love, loyalty, and confidence in our leader and mentor is deeply touching and truly inspiring.”
According to him,”We have listened closely to the voices of many well-meaning citizens who earnestly wished to see Professor Pate contest for the office of Governor of Bauchi State in 2027. This outpouring of support reflects the trust and belief the people have in his capacity, competence, and visionary leadership.”
The DG stated that,”However, his decision not to contest is a profound act of sacrifice, one driven by a greater commitment to the service and development of Nigeria, particularly Northern Nigeria and Bauchi State.”
“At this critical moment in our nation’s history, our country needs his expertise, experience, and global exposure more than ever. Professor Pate has once again demonstrated that true leadership is not about personal ambition, but about selfless service, integrity, and dedication to the common good,” he added.
He further stated that,”His choice stands as a powerful reminder that leadership is defined by impact, not position.”
“To the teeming youths of Bauchi State, we assure you that Professor Pate remains fully committed to your growth, empowerment, and future. He stands with you, just as he has always done,” he assured.
According to him, “We therefore call on all young people to continue supporting him with prayers, encouragement, and unwavering solidarity. His good works, generosity, and service to humanity will undoubtedly continue to touch lives across our state and beyond.”
Mohammed Sani Hassan declared that,”As an organization, the Pate Youth Ambassadors Initiatives (PYi) will patiently await the directive of our leader regarding the next political direction, including whom to support for the Governorship and other National Assembly positions. When that time comes, we are confident in our collective strength and readiness to deliver.”
He stated that,”Professor Mohammed Ali Pate, CON, you have proven to be a rare and selfless leader. Despite having all it takes experience, connections, and widespread support—to emerge as Governor, you chose the path of sacrifice for the greater good. History will forever remember your decision, and generations to come will draw inspiration from your courage and patriotism.”
He concluded that,”Your legacy is already being written, not just in words, but in the lives you continue to transform.”
