Bauchi Governor’s Media Adviser loses elder brother, Village Head of Gorondo

The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado has lost one his elder brothers, Lamaran Gidado, who was recently appointed and turbaned, Village Head of Gorondo in Alkaleri LGA.

The death was announced in a statement signed by Mukhtar Gidado in his capacity as a title holder of Jarman Alkaleri, made available to Journalists on Wednesday.

He wrote, “Innalillahi Wa’innailaihirraji’un, it is with profound sorrow and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah that the family of Sarkin Alkaleri announce the passing of Alhaji Lamaran Mohammed Gidado, the newly turbaned Village Head of Gorondo, who returned to his Creator on Tuesday, 21st July 2026, at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, after a brief illness.”

According to him, “Alhaji Lamaran Mohammed Gidado lived a life distinguished by humility, simplicity, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to public service.”

“He was widely admired for his friendly disposition, accessibility, and dedication to the welfare of his community and all who came in contact with him,” he further wrote.

Mukhtar Gidado added, “Throughout his distinguished career, he served meritoriously as the Managing Director of Yankari Savings and Loans Limited and later as the Bursar of Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi, from where he retired after rendering invaluable service to the State.”

He added, “His recent turbaning as the Village Head of Gorondo further reflected the confidence and respect reposed in him by the Bauchi state government, traditional institution , and the people he faithfully served.”

He stated that, “His passing is a great loss to his family, the people of Alkaleri Community , associates, friends, and the many lives he touched during his life time .”

His funeral prayer (Salatul Janazah) took place on Wednesday, 22nd July 2026, at the Palace of the Emir of Bauchi .

He then prayed, “May the Almighty Allah (SWT) forgive the shortcomings of our late brother , accept his good deeds, expand and illuminate his grave, and grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus., Ameen”

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Bauchi State Council on behalf of the entire working Journalists in the state expressed deep shock over the death of Alhaji Lamaran Mohammed Gidado, Village Head of Gorondo in Alkaleri Local Government of the state.

The Union in a statement issued and signed by its Secretary, Isah Garba Gadau, described the death of the traditional ruler as a great loss not only to his immediate family alone but to the people of Alkaleri local government area and the state in general.

The NUJ condoled the deceased younger brother, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, the State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammad, his Wife, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammad and the District Head of Alkaleri over the huge loss.

Bauchi NUJ also prayed God Almighty to grant him Jannatul Firdausi and give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
