A former Senator and former Ambassador, Senator Haruna Garba, has endorsed the candidature of Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, for the 2027 general elections under the main opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
As a demonstration of his support, Haruna Garba also handed over his political structure to Ali Isa Pantami just as he also directed all his supporters to align with him for the 2027 general elections and beyond.
Haruna Garba represented Gombe North in the Senate from 2003 to 2007 and served as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Kuwait from 2012 to 2015, and was a governorship aspirant in the 2019 elections in Gombe State.
Haruna Garba was also the pioneer Accountant General of Gombe State and a former Commissioner for Finance at its creation in 1996 by the military government of late General Sani Abacha.
Haruna Garba is known as one of the most philanthropic individuals Gombe State has produced as he has touched many lives positively through his generosity.
According to him, his main reason for endorsing Professor Isa Ali Pantami is his excellent performance in all previous offices he has served including his tenure as Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and as the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy.
Isa Ali Pantami transformed institutions from near collapse to become the best in the country. His international connections are a blessing to Nigeria, not just to Gombe State as he was the Chairman of the Global ICT and Digital Ministers where he chaired over 193 Ministers from 2022 to 2023.
He added that Isa Ali Pantami has proven to be a man of integrity both within and outside government and based on his honesty, loyalty, proven integrity, performance, local and international connections, and educational background, will be a great asset to Gombe State and Nigeria.
Senator Haruna Garba therefore handed over his entire political structure to Isa Ali Pantami Pantami and requested that they work together, and pledged to continue working with all stakeholders through his candidature towards building a successful Gombe State for all.
While receiving the political structure, Isah Ali Pantami, commended Haruna Garba for taking the bold step which he said was his commitment to having a better Gombe State.
The gubernatorial candidate said that the development is a morale booster and an indication that his candidature has the support of the stakeholders in the State even beyond political affiliations.
He then promised to quickly integrate the structure into his existing structure in order to expand the base and reach more people across the State, as contained in a statement signed by Professor Suleiman Mohammed, for Pantamiyya Movement in Nigeria, made available to Journalists on Monday.
