An All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirant, Alhaji Lawal Owojori Bayero, has congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his victory in the governorship election, urging him to use his renewed mandate to deliver more development to the people.
Bayero, who is also Chairman of Owojori Network Consult Ltd, described Adeleke’s victory as a reflection of the choice of the people of Osun State.
In a statement, he commended the electorate for exercising their democratic rights peacefully, urging all political actors and stakeholders to accept the outcome of the election in the interest of peace, unity and development.
He thanked Almighty Allah for the peaceful conduct of the poll, saying political differences did not undermine the electoral process.
Bayero also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as his “fatherly role” in managing the political situation surrounding the election.
According to him, the President demonstrated leadership by allowing the people of Osun State to freely choose their preferred candidate despite the competing political interests surrounding the election.
“Mr President showed leadership. He played the role of a father when his children were fighting over one position. That is the kind of leadership Nigeria needs,” he said.
Bayero urged Governor Adeleke to see his re-election as a fresh responsibility and rededicate himself to improving the welfare of the people during his second term.
“Osun people have spoken. I urge Governor Adeleke to do more in his second tenure. Work harder, serve better, and let the dance continue because the people have given you a renewed mandate,” he said.
He further called on political leaders, parties and other stakeholders to put the election behind them and work together to promote peace, unity and sustainable development across the state.
Bayero however reaffirmed his commitment to the progress of the APC and the promotion of peace, unity and development in Nigeria.
