Over 1,500 farmers across Darazo/Ganjuwa Federal Constituency have received solar-powered irrigation equipment through the intervention of Hon. Mansur Manu Soro.

Each beneficiary received one DC Solar Engine Pump and three solar panels, providing a more sustainable alternative to fuel-powered irrigation.

While presenting the items to the beneficiaries, Mansur Manu Soro, said that the essence is to ensure that dry season farming which people of the Constituency are known for was boosted.

According to him, “Beyond the equipment, the intervention was about helping farmers to easily access water, reduce irrigation costs and improve agricultural production.”

He added, “Turning sunlight into water, water into crops, and crops into income is the real story behind this initiative.”

The Federal Lawmaker further said that by the time the farmers engage in dry season farming at the end of the wet season farming,, it will complement availability of food for the people.

He urged the beneficiaries not to sell the items but put them to use at their various farms in order to achieve the set objectives of the programme.

One of the beneficiaries who spoke on behalf of others said, “This is a commendable intervention by Hon. Mansur Manu Soro, reflecting a practical commitment to supporting farmers and creating sustainable opportunities across the Constituency.”

He assured that the items will be deployed at their various farms in order to ensure crop production during the dry season.
