Governor Inuwa Yahaya Commiserates with Mai Kaltungo over Wife’s Demise

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya,  has expressed deep sadness over the demise of Queen Hajiya Amina Saleh Muhammad, wife of the Mai Kaltungo and Deputy Chairman, Gombe State Council of Emirs and Chiefs, HRH Engr. Saleh Muhammad Umar, OON.

Hajiya Amina passed away on Wednesday after a brief illness.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya described the late Queen as a woman of exceptional dignity, compassion and devotion, whose life was characterised by steadfast support for her husband and the traditional institution.

The Governor said her death is a significant loss, not only to the Mai Kaltungo and the royal family, but to the traditional institution and Gombe State in general, noting that she occupied an important place in the life of the palace and contributed quietly and meaningfully to the stability and wellbeing of the family and community.

On behalf of the Government and people of Gombe State, he extended his heartfelt condolences to the Mai Kaltungo, members of the royal family, the Kaltungo Traditional Council and the people of Kaltungo Chiefdom, urging them to find solace in the virtues, memories and legacies she left behind.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya prayed Almighty Allah to forgive her shortcomings, reward her good deeds and grant her Al-Jannatul Firdaus.

Meanwhile, the Palace of the Mai Kaltungo has announced that the funeral prayer (Janazah) for the deceased will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Mai Kaltungo’s Palace, Kaltungo Local Government Area, Gombe State, as contained in a statement signed by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General (Press Affairs), Government House, Gombe.
