The Inspector General of Police,Rilwan Olatinji Disu, has deployed the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 7 ,Mr. Victor Olaiya to coordinate the rescue operation of several worshippers recently abducted by suspected Armed bandits in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger state.

He appreciated the Niger state Government for providing them with necessary supports needed to ensure the success of the operations.
The Commissioner of Police said that the operation will be conducted in collaboration with other security agencies, to ensure that the victims were rescued safely.
Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, represented by the Police Public Relations Officer ( PPRO) Niger State Police Command, SP Wasiu Abiodin explained that the real risque operation of the abducted victims began on Thursday in strict compliance with the IGP, Rilwan Olatinji Disu..
According to him, the Security agencies are currently analysing their intelligence and strategizing for a hitch free rescue mission to be assisted by among other things such as the counter terrorism unit and the Explosives Ordinance Divices ( EOD) team provided by the Inspector General of Police to aid their work, for effective service delivery.
Also speaking, the Niger State Commissioner for Homeland Security, Barr. Maurice Bello Magaji, revealed that the state Government under the leadership of Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, will continue to provide security agencies with all the necessary supports needed to nip in the bud cases of the security challenges bedeviling the State and it’s people.
The Commissioner however regretted that some group of individuals trying to politicize insecurity bedeviling the state and Nigeria, and called on the communities to support the government and the Security agencies in the fight against terrorists and other criminalities in their domains.
While speaking on humanitarian supports, he assured that the security will take charge for now,. stressing that no matter how devil will last, that the government and the Security agencies will definitely overcome it, adding that no government can be happy with the killings of its citizens, saying that the state government is prioritizing security of lives and properties of the citizenry by the current administration in Niger state.
Barr Maurice Magaji further called for collective efforts by all and sundry in the fight against insecurity in parts of Niger State, insisting that peace is the prerequisite for any meaningful development.
