Niger   Tourism Ministry Unveils  New Strategic  Direction

The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Niger State, Hajiya Ladidi Bawa Bosso, has convened a strategic management meeting with Directors and Heads of Agencies under the Ministry to review operations and reposition the sector for greater impact.
This was.vontained in a Press statement issued by the Information and Public Relations Officer of the Ministry Lubabatu Kusheriki and made available to Journalists on Thursday in Minna.
The statement added that the  meeting examined the Ministry’s core mandates, assessed ongoing projects, and outlined a renewed strategy for achieving its objectives.
Key discussions, according to Lubabatu Kusheriki, centred on preparations for upcoming cultural and tourism events, including Nigerfest and activities at the Gurara Waterfalls, the improvement of tourism infrastructure, and strengthened collaboration with local artists and host communities.
The Commissioner added that this will mark a strategic realignment for the Ministry towards achieving the New Niger Agenda of Farmer Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago.
“She then reaffirmed her commitment to reviving the State Zoological Garden, strengthening monuments and museums across the state, and supporting the Arewa Museum in Kaduna”, the statement noted .
Furthermore, the Commissioner was quoted to have stressed, “the need to fully harness Niger State’s tourism potentials to national standards as a revenue generating agency”.
Meanwhile, in his remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mallam Habib Abdulkadir, assured the Commissioner of the total support and cooperation of staff towards effective policy implementation and the successful delivery of the Ministry’s programmes and initiatives.
