A political pressure group, Pate Youths Ambassadors Initiatives (PYI) is leading 101 other youths groups in Bauchi State to call on the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof Mohammed Ali Pate, to heed the numerous calls on him to declare interest in securing the gubernatorial ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State for the 2027 general elections.
The Pate Youths Ambassadors Initiatives (PYI), made the call during a Press conference addressed by Director General of the group, Prince Mohammed Hassan, held on Monday, in collaboration with 101 youths groups across Bauchi State.
According to him, “We welcome you to this important press conference today. We have gathered here to make a passionate appeal and to convey the collective voices of thousands of youths and stakeholders across the length and breadth of Bauchi State.”
He stated that, “Today, we call on Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to please answer the clarion call of the good people of Bauchi State and declare his intention to contest for the office of Governor of Bauchi State in the 2027 elections under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).”
According to him,”Professor Ali Pate is not just another aspirant. He is a globally respected Public Health Expert, an accomplished administrator, and a patriotic son of Bauchi State who has consistently demonstrated competence, integrity, and visionary leadership.”
Mohammed Hassan stressed that, “Among all those aspiring to lead Bauchi State, none possesses the unique combination of experience, credibility, and proven record of service that Professor Muhammad Ali Pate has built over the years.”
He highlighted that the public service record of Ali Pate is outstanding including former Executive Director, National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA), former Minister of State for Health and currently Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare.
According to him, “Throughout these positions, Professor Ali Pate has worked tirelessly to strengthen Nigeria’s health sector and expand access to healthcare services for millions of citizens.”
Mohammed Sani Hassan added that, “We are proud to state that since assuming his current position as Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate has facilitated employment opportunities for no fewer than 2,670 youths from Bauchi State, giving them permanent and pensionable federal jobs. This singular achievement has significantly improved the lives of many families across our state.”
“In addition, through his commitment and influence in national development, Bauchi State has witnessed several landmark health sector developments,” he added.
It included the establishment of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Misau, establishment of the Federal College of Nursing Sciences, Misau, upgrading of the Federal Medical Centre, Azare to the Federal Teaching Hospital Azare and major development and improvements at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi
He added that, “These achievements clearly demonstrate Professor Pate’s commitment not only to national service but also to the development and wellbeing of the people of Bauchi State.”
The DG added that, “Bauchi State today stands at a very important moment in its history. Our people desire leadership that is visionary, inclusive, and capable of driving development without rancor, division, or discrimination.”
He further stated that, “We believe strongly that Professor Muhammad Ali Pate represents the type of leadership Bauchi State needs at this critical time.”
According to him, “He is a national figure with global exposure, yet he remains deeply connected to the needs and aspirations of his people. His leadership is based on competence, service, and integrity.”
“For this reason, 101 youths organizations across Bauchi State, working together with Pate Youth Ambassadors Initiatives (PYI), have come together today to respectfully appeal to him to accept the call of the people and contest for the office of Governor of Bauchi State in 2027,” he added.
He assured that,”We believe that Bauchi State needs his experience, his leadership capacity, and his selfless commitment to move the state forward to the next stage of development, unity, and prosperity.”
According to him, “If he answers this call, we assure him that the youths of Bauchi State will stand firmly behind him. Our movement will mobilize across all the nooks and crannies of Bauchi State, from villages to towns, from wards to local governments to campaign and rally support for his aspiration.”
He added that,”We are confident that with the support of the people, Bauchi State can witness a new era of progress under his leadership. Therefore, we respectfully call on Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, CON, Mai Nasaran Bauchi and Cigarin Misau, to listen to the voice of the people.”
He concluded, “Sìr, the youths, elders, and stakeholders of Bauchi State are calling on you. Please answer this call and lead Bauchi State to greater heights. Finally, we thank members of the press for their presence and for their continued commitment to informing the public.”
