President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof Nentawe Yilwatda, have been urged to quickly intervene in the seemingly leadership crisis in the party in Bauchi State.

The call was made by a Coalition of Seventy-five groups within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Tinubu’s Support Groups in Bauchi State, during a Press conference, held on Monday, 23 March 2026.

The Coalition called on the National leadership of the party, to as a matter of urgency, uphold the result of State Congress held in Bauchi State and unite for President Tinubu’s victory in 2027.

The Coalition made the call during a Press Conference addressed by
Barrister Jibrin S. Jibrin, Chairman Advisory Board of the Coalition and Comrade Ibrahim Y. Muhammad, Secretary.

Text of the conference contained that, “In the spirit of the forthcoming 2027 electoral season, we, the undersigned leaders and members of the recognized APC and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s support groups in Bauchi State are constrained to use this medium to draw the attention of His Excellency President Bola Ahmad Tinubu – as the leader of our great party APC, the National Chairman of the party and other party leaders at all levels to some unsettling and quite disturbing developments arising out of the recently concluded state congress in Bauchi State.”

It further contained that,”The idea is for the national leadership and His Excellency to intervene such that the great momentum, resurgence spirit and optimism being experienced in favour of the party across Bauchi State ahead of the 2027 election is not undermined nor compromised for the selfish, unpopular and unacceptable interest of the very few.”

The Coalition stressed that,”A State Congress for the Party Executives was duly held: The outcome should stand and be affirmed.”

“Your Excellency Mr. President, at the heart of the issues in the party in Bauchi State is the underhand efforts by some few stakeholders to subvert the will and choice of the overwhelming majority of stakeholders as expressed in the result of the recently concluded State Congress where a new set of Executives of the party were duly elected, endorsed and returned as monitored by INEC, security agencies, the media and other stakeholders,” It stated.

According to the Coalition,”For clarity and ease of reference, we hereby present a certified true copy of the result of State Congress which returned Alhaji Muhammad Hassan Tilde, Alhaji Mustapha Zirami and Alhaji Yakubu Muhammed among others as State Chairman, Secretary and Organizing Secretary of the party, respectively.”

The Coalition added that,”It is, however, a matter of grave concern and worry that after the exercise was duly concluded between the 3rd and 4th March 2026, these forces who have been largely responsible for the party’s dismal outing in the past presidential and other elections in the State launched a self-serving attempt aimed at manipulating the result such that the persons already elected and returned as the State Secretary, Organizing Secretary among others would be replaced by their own candidates who have been roundly defeated at the exercise.”

It added,”Mr. President, this is the problem. Against this background, Sir, the party in Bauchi State needs your intervention and that of the national leadership of the party so that your victory come 2027 and that of the party as a whole is not derailed on the altar of the selfish interest of these few.”

“May we add that the Congress in reference in Bauchi State where these party executives emerged like in other states in the country were conducted in compliance with Article 20 (ii) (a) and (iv) of the extant APC Constitution and the Electoral Act 2026,” It stressed.

It added that,”Surprisingly, however, while most, if not all states across the country have inaugurated their new leaders, this is not the case with Bauchi State and that may not be unconnected with the attempt to alter the overall will of the stakeholders.”

According to the Coalition,”It is for this reason and in order to avoid a repeat of past unfortunate and very forgettable experiences where the great goodwill which the party enjoys is eroded on the altar of the selfish interests of these few stakeholders whose electoral value has since diminished that it becomes necessary that you and the national leadership of the party kindly intervene and direct that the needful is done in the greater interest of the party. It happened in 2019.”

It stressed that,”It occurred again in 2023. It must not be repeated in 2027 especially after majority of our stakeholders having learnt from the past mistakes have resolved to work together for the unity of the party, victory of Mr. President and our other candidates hence the peaceful and acceptable conduct of the congress exercise.”

“The point is that we have come a long way in putting the party on the path of victory, hence the great progress recorded must not be reversed for whatever reason,” It added.

In conclusion, the Coalition stated that,, “We reiterate a known fact that Bauchi is unique, advanced and sophisticated politically. Our people have renewed their faith and love for APC and Mr. President. Our stakeholders in the party as leaders and representatives have spoken for us on the choice of who our state executive committee are.”

It added that,”They have particularly elected and returned Alhaji Mustapha Zirami and Hon. Yakubu Muhammed as the State Secretary and Organizing Secretary, respectively. Mr. President, this is democracy in action. Let the will of our party members and leaders prevail. There is no other way to deliver the much desired Tinubu victory and other APC candidates in Bauchi State come 2027 than doing just this, please!!”
