Card-carrying members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Niger State have been enjoined  to remain committed, disciplined, and strategic in advancing the party’s political fortunes ahead of upcoming elections.
The charge was given by the newly inaugurated State Chairman of the Party, Abdul Hameed El-Waziri, during an interaction with journalists at the party’s secretariat in Minna.
Addressing party faithful and the wider public, El-Waziri emphasized the importance of responsible political participation, urging members to “use their membership cards wisely” as a tool for democratic engagement and electoral success at both state and national levels.
He described the ADC as a rapidly emerging opposition force with the structure and capacity to drive meaningful change across Nigeria.
According to him, the party is built on principles of inclusiveness, equity, and service committed to delivering governance that transcends ethnic, religious, and political divides.
“The ADC is purpose-driven and people-oriented,” he noted, stressing that its mission is to serve Nigerians impartially while addressing pressing socio-political challenges.
El-Waziri, who also holds the traditional title of Talban Kontagora, attributed his emergence as state chairman to his extensive political experience, having served in various capacities at both state and national levels.
He pledged to leverage this experience to strengthen party structures and secure electoral victories in forthcoming contests.
Reaffirming his commitment, the chairman stated that the party leadership in Niger State is focused on building a united front capable of competing effectively in the political landscape.
He also used the occasion to call on young people to remain focused, law-abiding, and constructive in their political engagements. Emphasizing the need for decorum, he.advised  youths to avoid violence and rancour, noting that unity, peace, and mutual understanding remain the guiding principles of the ADC’s political philosophy.
As the political climate gradually intensifies, the ADC’s renewed push in Niger State signals a broader ambition to consolidate its presence and position itself as a viable alternative in Nigeria’s evolving democratic space.
