A political pressure group with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), known as Bauchi State APC Credibility Forum, has assured that best among the gubernatorial aspirants will emerged as the candidate of the party in the 2027 general elections.
The Forum has therefore started consultations with all the identified aspirants with the aim of talking to them on the need to understand the focus of the party in order to avoid mistakes of the past.
On Saturday, the Forum met with one of the aspirants, Hon Nura Manu Soro, during which expanded consultations were made on the need to allow for reasons to stand.
Secretary of the Forum, Hon Tahiru Mohammed Jamda from Alkaleri Local Government, told Journalists that, “Well, we come for a meeting, and precisely to discuss with one of the aspirants, gubernatorial aspirants, that is Dr. Nura Manu Soro, to make sure that we put things in order, the way it’s supposed to be because the election is around the corner.”
According to him,”The aim and objective is to make sure that we bring APC to be the ruling party in Nigeria and in Bauchi State and other local governments in general.”
He added that, “Because the process that we are now on, we want to make sure that anything that can cause any problem along the line, we make sure that we clear it away. In fact, it’s one of the reasons why we come and discuss with him.”
The Secretary of the Forum added, “Yeah, we have many aspirants,and we are going to go round all of them one after the other. We are even ready for that and we have an appointment with almost all of them and we are going one after the other.”
“So with that, and at the end of the day, we will come and sit down to make sure that each and everyone of them knows his own stand,” he stressed.
He added that, “So, we will make sure that we bring them together, unite them together to clear any problem that will hinder us from winning the general elections in 2027.”
Asked if he is sure that with this kind of sitting the APC is going to win election coming 2027, he answered, “Definitely, by God’s grace, because all political symptoms of acceptability from the general public is with us. And even the nature of the sitting, you have seen it. And you see the number of people that are now in the meeting.”
He concluded that, “And you see the caliber of people that are around to make sure that they put things into order. And I believe you can answer this by yourself. The APC is fully ready for the challenges ahead and we shall come out triumphantly.”
Host of the meeting, Nura Manu Soro, however declined to speak on the meeting when approached by Journalists, he simply said,”It is not yet time to speak, consultations are still ongoing, at the appropriate time, I will talk to you, Journalists.”
