As Gombe State prepares for another defining moment in its democratic journey, the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State, Dr. Jamil Isyaku Gwamna, has strased that the people of the state deserve a campaign that speaks to their concerns, addresses their needs and presents a clear vision for a better future.
The gubernatorial candidate made the call while addressing his supporters in Gombe preparatory to the formal launch of statewide campaign.
From the outset of his gubernatorial campaign, Jamil Gwamna made it clear that his campaign would be issues-based, people-centred and solutions-driven, with no room for insults, personal attacks or needless distractions.
“From the very beginning, I made it clear that I will run an issues-based campaign. I have no interest in politics of insults, personal attacks, or needless distractions,” he said
He stressed that, “That commitment remains as firm today as it was on the day it was made and continues to define the direction of our campaign,” stressing that the guiding principle remains Gombe Above All.”
Jamilu Gwamna also said that the campaign would focus on issues that matter to the people, including job creation, economic growth, youth and women empowerment, agriculture and livestock development, education, healthcare, infrastructure, entrepreneurship, investment and innovation.
He also called on the people of Gombe State to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, who is contesting for the Senatorial seat, as well as all other APC candidates contesting for the Senate and House of Representatives in the state.
According to him, the tremendous projects, programmes and interventions of the Inuwa Yahaya administration are enough to present to the people as evidence of the APC’s commitment to development and good governance in Gombe State.
“Our campaign is equally committed to consolidating the remarkable achievements of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya while introducing fresh ideas, innovative policies and strategic initiatives that will accelerate growth,” he said.
He said that once the gubernatorial and State Assembly campaigns commence, he will unveil his comprehensive blueprint for Gombe State, anchored on Continuity, Sustainability and Consolidation.
The blueprint, he explained, will build on the achievements of the present administration under Governor Inuwa Yahaya, while introducing practical solutions to create more opportunities, improve living standards and ensure development reaches every part of Gombe State.
“We believe that Gombe possesses the human and natural resources to become one of Africa’s leading sub-national economies, through visionary leadership, disciplined governance, and the collective efforts of our people,” the gubernatorial candidate said.
Jamilu Gwamna therefore called on all political actors, supporters and citizens to maintain peace and embrace a clean, respectful and issue-based campaign, saying the interest of Gombe State must remain above personal and political differences, as contained in a statement signed by Ibrahim Sani Shawai, Spokesperson to Dr. Jamil Isyaku Gwamna, made available to Journalists on Thursday.
