The Member representing Yamaltu-Deba Federal Constituency of Gombe State, in the House of Representatives, Hon. Inuwa Garba, has dumped the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He has consequently obtained the membership card of the APC in his Ward and LGA and presented same to the State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa when he visited the Governor.
During the visit, Inuwa Garba formally presented his APC membership card to the Governor, which he obtained from his ward in Lubo, Yamaltu-Deba Local Government Area, signifying his full integration into the progressive family.
Explaining his decision, the Federal Lawmaker said he was inspired by Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s purposeful leadership, people-centred policies and outstanding performance across Gombe State, as well as the reform-driven Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
According to him, the APC offers a more credible, stable and development-oriented platform capable of delivering sustainable growth, inclusive governance and lasting prosperity to Nigerians.
“The APC represents the future of progressive governance in Nigeria. I am convinced that under the leadership of Governor Inuwa Yahaya and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, our people will continue to enjoy meaningful development,” Inuwa Garba stated.
He pledged his unalloyed loyalty and total commitment to the party and its leadership.
In his response, Governor Inuwa Yahaya warmly welcomed Hon. Garba into the APC fold, commending his courage and sense of responsibility to his constituents.
He described the defection as a strong endorsement of the APC’s performance in Gombe State, and a further validation of the administration’s development-focused governance model, anchored on infrastructure renewal, human capital development, economic diversification and inclusive growth.
Inuwa Yahaya, who was recently appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Renewed Hope Ambassador and Secretary for Party Outreach, Engagement and Mobilization, viewed Hon. Garba’s defection as a significant political gain that will further consolidate the APC’s dominance in Gombe State ahead of future electoral contests, as contained in a statement by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General (Press Affairs), Government House, Gombe.
