Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has approved the posting of 35 Permanent Secretaries to various ministries, departments and agencies of the State Government, as part of measures to strengthen administrative coordination, enhance efficiency and improve public service delivery.
The Head of Civil Service, Professor Mu’azu Shehu, who conveyed the Governor’s approval, said under the new arrangement, Jalo Ibrahim Ali, mni, is posted to the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development from the Ministry of Finance, where he had also been overseeing the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, while Idris Yambiu Buba, mni, remains at the Ministry of Health.
Muhammad Muhammad Galadima is posted to the Ministry of Information, Strategy and Culture, having previously served at the same Ministry while overseeing the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.
Other postings include Danladi Adamu to the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure; Suleiman Musa Kwami to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources; and Abubakar Hassan to the Bureau of Public Service Reforms.
Similarly, Salisu Adamu Sambo is to retain his position in the Office of the Secretary to the State Government/Cabinet Secretariat, while Shuaibu Ibrahim moves to the Ministry of Environment and Forest Resources.
Adamu Mohammed Kala is posted to the Ministry of Women Development and Social Welfare, while Sa’adatu Bome Ishaya takes charge of the Local Government Service Commission.
Abubakar Babayo Hassan posted to the State Pensions Bureau, while Muhammad Ismail Hinna moves to Internal Security from the Ministry of Justice.
Also affected are Muhammad Bello Abubakar Kumo, who moves to the Ministry of Water Resources; Alhassan Ibrahim, who remains at Government House; Ahmed Sa’eed Guli, who is posted to the Ministry of Livestock Development; and Dr. Lawan Bala, who retains his position in the Ministry of Special Duties and Regional Integration.
The new postings also assign Musa Idi Batari to the Ministry for Local Governments and Community Development; Ali Ahmed Yaya to the Ministry of Education; Shu’aibu Chiroma Muh’d to General Administration, Office of the Head of Civil Service; and Bello Haruna Gelengu to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.
Others are Moh’d Ibrahim Gombe, Ministry of Youth Development; Tahir A. Sadiq, Teachers’ Service Commission; Haruna Moh’d Danburam, Ph.D, Ministry of Rural Development and Cooperatives; Kabiru Mohammed Mahdi, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB); and Balarabe Musa, Civil Service Commission/General Duties.
The postings also include Kasimu Umar to the Deputy Governor’s Office; Ruth Caleb Maina to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism; Haruna Dadum Hamza, Ph.D, to the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction; and Dr. Hadi Mohammed to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.
Others are Auwal Abduljalal, Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security; Musa M. Babaji, Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning; Tabitha B. James, Establishment and Service Matters Department, Office of the Head of Civil Service; Mohammed Auwal Ahmed, Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning; Alheri Yoriyo, Ministry of Justice; and Barr. Adamu Audi, State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC).
The Head of Civil Service said the Governor has directed all affected Permanent Secretaries to ensure that all handing-over and taking-over formalities are completed on or before Friday, September 25, 2026.
He is expected to ensure strict compliance with the directive and facilitate a smooth transition across all affected ministries, departments and agencies, as contained in a statement signed by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General, (Press Affairs), Government House, Gombe.
