Properties worth millions of Naira have been lost in a late night fire that ravaged a section of the new Azare market, Abubakar Tatari Ali Market, in Katagum LGA of Bauchi State.
Reports have it that the fire incident which cause was yet to be ascertained, ravaged the clothes section of the new market, which is the most populated.
Eyewitnesses stated that the fire incident started from one of the locked up shops very late on Thursday, 5th March, 2026 after most of the shops had closed and the owners left.
Additional reports have it thar many shops were affected in the fire incidences leading to lost of valuables amounting to millions of Naira.
It was reported that the Fire Service Station in Azare and other people engaged in rescue operations to avert the fire from spreading to other sections of the market, which they were able to do by keeping the fire under firm control.
As of the time of filling this report, Friday morning, the number of shops and property affected were yet to be ascertained while the concerned authorities were yet to give official statement.
