The Nigerian Army Armour School, Obienu Barracks, Bauchi, has informed the general public that it will conduct a Live Fire Power Demonstration Exercise on Wednesday, September 23, along the Bauchi-Jos Road.
In a press release signed by the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Nigerian Army Armoured Corps, Major Adekunle A. Adeyemi, on behalf of the Commandant, Major General Sunday Makolo, the Army stated that the exercise will take place from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.
The Army further stated that the exercise will involve the movement of troops and military equipment, as well as the use of live ammunition and projectiles.
It therefore advised members of the public not to panic when they see troops or hear gunshots and explosions in the area.
The Army specifically warned farmers and cattle rearers around Zaranda Hill and Geji village to stay away from the designated training area throughout the exercise.
The Army assured that adequate measures have been put in place to protect lives and property, and urged residents to cooperate with security personnel and avoid the training area during the exercise.
