The Niger State government has commenced the compilation of a comprehensive database of Deputy Directors on Grade Level 16 across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) as part of ongoing efforts to promote effective career progression and strengthen the State Civil Service.
This directive is contained in a circular issued by the Office of the Head of Service, Human Resource Development Department, and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Human Resource Development, Maryam I. Ahmad, on behalf of the Head of Service.
The Information Officer of the Head of Service Office, Niger State, Mohammed Kolo stated this in a Press statement issued and made available to Journalists on Saturday in Minna
According to the circular, all Ministries, Departments and Agencies are required to submit detailed information on officers currently serving as Deputy Directors on Grade Level 16 who have been substantively appointed and have spent a minimum of three years on the grade.
The exercise, the Office of the Head of Service noted, is aimed at ensuring accurate personnel records and facilitating appropriate career advancement in line with the Niger State Civil Service Rules and government’s commitment to rewarding competence, experience and dedication.
The circular directed that submissions should reach the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Human Resource Development Department, Office of the Head of Service, on or before Friday, 7th August, 2026, using the prescribed template attached to the circular.
The required information includes the officer’s name, cadre number, date of birth, date of first appointment, date of present appointment, scheme/grade level, highest educational and professional qualifications, and Local Government Area of origin.
The Office of the Head of Service emphasized that the assignment is urgent and called on all Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Agencies to ensure prompt compliance within the stipulated timeframe in the overall interest of the State government.
The initiative underscores the commitment of the Niger State government to building a motivated, efficient and merit-driven Civil Service capable of delivering quality service to the people of the State.
