The Chairman of the Northern Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NNGF) and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, who died yesterday, Sunday.
In a condolence message on behalf of his colleagues in the Northern Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Governor Inuwa Yahaya described the deceased as a veteran public servant and elder statesman whose years of service contributed significantly to the political and developmental journey of Kogi State.
He noted that the late former Governor would be remembered for his commitment to public service and for the experience and wisdom he brought to governance and political leadership.
The NNGF Chairman extended the Forum’s deepest condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, Governor Ahmed Ododo, the people of Omala Local Government Area, the Igala Kingdom and the entire people of Kogi State, urging them to take solace in the enduring legacies of the departed statesman.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya prayed Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the late Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, accept his good deeds and grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus.
He also prayed Allah to grant his family, loved ones and the people of Kogi State the fortitude to bear the great loss, as contained in a statement signed by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General, (Press Affairs), Government House, Gombe.
