The All Progressives Congress (APC), (Gombe State Senatorial/ House of Representatives Primary Elections Committee, 2026), has declared that the exercise conducted on Saturday for the House of Representatives, was a huge success in line with the guidelines of the party.
Chairman of the Committee, Malam Labiru Musa Kafur, made the disclosure Sunday evening during a Press Conference to declare the successful conduct and outcome of the APC House of Representatives Primary Elections in Gombe State.
Reading the text, he stated, “Pursuant to the Constitution of the All Progressives Congress and in absolute compliance with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2026, this Committee was given a clear, uncompromised mandate: to deliver a transparent, credible, and flawless primary election across the six (6) Federal House of Representatives constituencies in Gombe State.”
He explained that,”Our overarching objective was to ensure that the bedrock of progressive politics—which is the absolute will of the grassroots membership—was fully protected, thereby strengthening party cohesion ahead of the general elections.”
According to him, “To achieve an unassailable standard of integrity, the Committee utilized the Direct Primary Election mode. The process was meticulously structured to eliminate any administrative vulnerabilities.”
On verified membership, he stated that, “Voting eligibility was strictly predicated on two synchronized levels of verification: the physical presentation of valid APC Party Membership Cards matched against the Comprehensive Party Membership Registers at every single voting point.”
Labiru Musa Kafur added that, “This ensured that only authentic, registered party faithful shaped the leadership of the party.
Rather than sitting in a central secretariat, this Committee deployed a hands-on monitoring strategy. We physically visited and embedded ourselves within the majority of the constituencies to witness the voting firsthand.”..
He further stated that,”The Committee maintained active, real-time field oversight at the crucial Kumo, Billiri, Kaltungo, and Gombe collation and voting centres. The operations at all voting points were fully decentralized, conducted completely in the open, and subjected to the scrutiny of independent monitors, civil society observers, and national security agencies.”
“The logistical deployment of sensitive and non-sensitive materials was executed flawlessly, eliminating delays and ensuring that no eligible party member was disenfranchised,” he added.
He then declared, “Following the systematic, secure tallying of the official returns certified by the designated Collation Officers across all constituencies, the Committee hereby announces the final results for the Gombe State Federal House of Representatives Primary Elections.”
In Akko Federal Constituency, the total Registered Members was 102,398, total Votes Cast, 21,813 while Hon. Usman A. Bello Kumo scored 21,813 votes, securing 100% of the mandate. Hon. Usman Bello A. Kumo was therefore Returned Elected.
For Balanga / Billiri Federal Constituency, the total Registered Members was 56,950, total Votes Cast, 26,406 with
Rt. Hon. Ali Isa JC scoring 23,362 votes while Mr. Alfred John scored 2,822 votes; Saratu Hamman Jauro scored 224 votes.
Hon. Ali Isa JC was therefore Returned Elected.
In Dukku / Nafada Federal Constituency, the total Registered Members was 59,97, total Votes Cast, 29,210 with
Jamilu Ahmed Shabewa scoring 28,144 votes., Umar Ahmed scored 1,066 votes. Hon. Jamilu Ahmed Shebawa was therefore Returned Elected.
In .Gombe / Kwami / Funakaye Federal Constituency, the total Registered Members stand at 200,940, total Votes Cast, 60,162 with Hon. Saddam Bello scoring 54,260 votes., Zakariya Jidda scored 5,902 votes. Hon. Saddam Bello was therefore Returned Elected.
For the Kaltungo / Shongom Federal Constituency, the total Registered Members was 46,794,
Total Votes Cast, 13,824. Hon. Fatima Binta Bello scored 13,824 votes, securing 100% of the mandate. Hon. Fatima Binta Bello was therefore Returned Elected.
For the Yamaltu / Deba Federal Constituency, the total Registered Members is 89,027, total Votes Cast: 23,840. Hon. Inuwa Garba scored 23,840 votes, securing 100% of the mandate.
Hon. Inuwa Garba was therefore Returned Elected.
The Committee Chairman stressed that the peaceful atmosphere, the orderly conduct of aspirants, and the massive, disciplined turnouts across the state prove beyond doubt that the APC internal democracy is robust, stable, and deeply institutionalized.
According to him, “By establishing a system anchored heavily on verifiable registers and institutional rules, the outcome of this primary is legally sound and democratically unassailable.”
The Committee has compiled its official, certified documentation and will immediately transmit the results to the National Working Committee (NWC) for formal ratification of the standard-bearers.
The Committee extended its deepest gratitude to the Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya and the State Executive Committee of the party for ensuring an exceptionally stable and supportive environment.
“We commend the security forces for their exemplary professionalism and the members of the press for their objective coverage. Most importantly, we salute the teeming members of the APC in Gombe State. You are the true custodians of this victory,” he concluded.
