The Accountant General of Gombe State, Aminu Yuguda, has pledged to build on the legacy of Governor Inuwa Yahaya as he formally declared his ambition to contest the 2027 governorship election.
Yuguda made this known on Thursday when he submitted his intent form at the All Progressives Congress (APC) secretariat in Gombe, drawing a large crowd of supporters who came out to show solidarity.
He thanked his supporters for turning out en masse and reiterated his commitment to continuity in governance.
“I have no template apart from the Governor’s template. Everyone can see how the Governor has delivered, and that template will continue to work for Gombe State,” he said.
He added that he formally presented his intention to contest for the governorship under the APC platform.
In his response, the APC Chairman in the state, Muhammad Ndus, called on all aspirants to remain united and work together to secure victory for the party in the 2027 general elections.
Ndus commended Yuguda for formally notifying the party of his intention and noted that the impressive turnout reflects the growing popularity of the APC and confidence in its leadership.
He also pointed to ongoing developmental projects under Governor Yahaya, expressing optimism that more people would join the party in the near future.
