The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 23-year old man, Sirajo Ali in connection with an alleged case of rape and criminal threat to life involving a 13-year-old girl in Bundot Area, Dass LGA.
The Police through the PPRO, SP Nafiu Habib, stated in a statement released on Thursday that on 28th July 2026 at about 2030hrs, a 29 year old man, of Bundot in Dass LGA, reported at the Dass Police Division that on the same date at about 1030hrs, one Sirajo Ali, 23 years, of the same address, lured his younger sister into his room.
The victim, a 13-years-old teenager, stated that upon getting into the room, the suspect brought out a knife and criminally threatened her, warning that he would kill her if she shouted or told anyone and thereafter, had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.
Upon receipt of the report, detectives from the Dass Division immediately swung into action and the suspect was promptly arrested, and the crime scene was visited.
The knife allegedly used in the commission of the crime was also recovered as an exhibit.
The case is currently under investigation at the Division and will soon be transferred to the Gender Laboratory of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Bauchi, for discreet investigation and subsequent prosecution.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has condemned the act in strong terms and reassured the public of the Command’s commitment to ensuring justice for victims of sexual violence.
He further urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activities to the Police without delay.
