Gunmen suspected to be Armed Bandits in large numbers have killed no fewer than 26 persons, as about two Police Outposts we’re said to have been set ablaze, while many houses were burnt down during an attack at Feyi community of Borgu local government area of the Niger state.
Investigation gathered that the hoodlums, suspected to be insurgent group invaded the the community with sophisticated weapons on their operational motorcycles and raided the communities with their sophisticated weapons, threatening the residents and shooting sporadically into the air with the view to scare the villagers of any attempts to resist operations.
Insider sources who pleaded for anonymity in a brief interview with our reporter during and interview by telephone conversation noted that the illegal operations commenced in the early hours of Friday,13th February 2026, when the heavily armed Gunmen arrived Feyi village killing six innocent persons, they also carried out their criminal activities freely and unabated without security presence in the community and in the neighbourhood communities to challenge the hoodlums .
The suspected terrorists group later moved to other communities in the neighbourhood identified as Tungan Makeri and Nkpaso villages respectively, both in Konkoso Ward of Borgu local government area of Niger State also in the early hours of Saturday,14th February 2026, killing no fewer than about 20 persons.
According to reports, they burnt down the Police station in Pissa and later took their heels upon hearing the sound of an helicopter moving towards their direction after successfully carrying out their nefarious activities.
Further checks by our reporter gathered that the people in those affected communities and nearby villages have left their ancestral homes for safety, calling on the governments at all levels and security Operatives to as a matter of urgency come to their rescue and to safeguard them from Incessant attacks.
Sources who spoke on condition of anonymity further revealed that while on the run for safety, nobody can ascertain the proper number of casualties or numbers of abducted victims currently in captivity as of the time of filling this report at the weekend.
When contacted the Police Public Relations Officer, Niger State Police Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun could not be reached for confirmation as of the time of filing this report.
