Niger Successfully Concludes Airlift Of 2,281 Pilgrims  For 2026 Hajj Exercise.

The Niger State Government has successfully concluded the airlift of all 2,281 intending pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj exercise from the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport, Minna, marking another significant achievement in the state’s commitment to efficient pilgrimage operations and aviation development.
This is contained in a statement issued by the  Director, Information and Public Relations Services, Yunusa Saidu Ibrahim anipr,State Ministry of Information and Orientation,saying that the pilgrims, drawn from the 25 Local Government Areas of the state, were transported to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through six scheduled Ibrahim anipr Ministry of Information and Orientation Niger State, made available to Journalists on Monday in Minna.
The statement added that the flights coordinated by the State Pilgrims Welfare Board in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, stressing that the State
governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago described the successful completion of the airlift exercise as a reflection of effective partnership, proper management, hard work, commitment, and dedication demonstrated by the state government, the Pilgrims Welfare Board, and all agencies involved in the operation.
It stated further that the ministry of Information commends the 2026 Amirul Hajj and Emir of Agaie, Alhaji Yusuf Nuhu, for his leadership and guidance throughout the exercise.
The ministry wishes to applaud security agencies, the medical team, travel agencies, airline personnel, and airport officials for working tirelessly to ensure a smooth, orderly, and hitch-free airlift operation.
The ministry reaffirms that the Farmer Governor Bago’s administration is determined to continue implementing reforms and policies that would further improve Hajj operations and guarantee seamless pilgrimage processes for intending pilgrims in the state.
“We therefore call on the pilgrims to conduct themselves responsibly and remain worthy ambassadors of Niger State and Nigeria throughout their stay in the Holy Land.
“The pilgrims are urged to use the sacred opportunity to offer  prayers for sustained peace, unity, and prosperity in Niger State and Nigeria at large”, Yunusa Saidu Ibrahim, further stated .
He noted that the successful international operations from the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport, Minna, further underscore the state government’s strategic vision of transforming the airport into a major aviation hub for religious, commercial, and regional air transportation in Nigeria.
He explained that the Ministry of Information and Orientation commends all stakeholders whose collective efforts contributed to the successful completion of the 2026 Hajj airlift exercise and wishes all pilgrims a spiritually fulfilling and accepted Hajj.
He however enjoined  the public to stay with the Ministry for updates on the activities of the pilgrims throughout the exercise.
