2027: Gombe APC Governorship, National Assembly Candidates Receive INEC Nomination Forms As Duly Confirmed Party's Flag Bearers

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship and National Assembly candidates for Gombe State have today received the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) forms issued through the APC National Secretariat as duly elected and certified party’s flag bearers.

At a brief ceremony held in his office at the Government House, Gombe, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya formally presented the INEC nomination forms to the candidates, signifying the completion of the party’s internal nomination process and the beginning of the legal process for the submission of candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)

Those who received the INEC forms include the APC Governorship Candidate, Dr. Jamilu Isiyaku Gwamna, who had earlier emerged as the party’s flag bearer after securing an overwhelming mandate from members.

Also receiving their nomination forms were the APC Senatorial candidates: Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for Gombe North Senatorial District, DCP Ahmed Mohammed Deba (Rtd.) for Gombe Central and Hon. Jerry Joseph Damara for Gombe South.

Similarly, the party’s six House of Representatives candidates received their forms. They include Hon. Usman Bello Kumo (Akko Federal Constituency), Hon. Ali Isa JC (Balanga/Billiri), Hon. Fatima Binta Bello (Kaltungo/Shongom), Hon. Inuwa Garba (Yamaltu/Deba), Hon. Sadam Bello (Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye) and Hon. Jamilu Shabewa (Dukku/Nafada).

Speaking during the presentation, Governor Inuwa Yahaya congratulated the candidates on earning the confidence of the party leadership and members through the democratic primary process, urging them to regard their emergence as a call to greater responsibility and service.

He explained that the issuance of the INEC nomination forms marks another important milestone in the electoral process, as the candidates are expected to complete the required documentation for submission in accordance with the Electoral Act and the guidelines issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Their completed nomination forms and supporting credentials, he noted, will subsequently be uploaded to the INEC Candidate Nomination Portal within the timeframe prescribed by the Commission.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya urged the candidates to remain focused and united as the party prepares for the next phase of the electoral process, stressing that cohesion, discipline and sustained grassroots engagement would remain critical to the APC’s success in the forthcoming elections.

The Governor expressed confidence that the APC Governorship candidate, Dr. Jamilu Gwamna and the National Assembly candidates possess the experience, capacity and credibility required to effectively represent the aspirations of the people at both the state and national levels.

The presentation of the INEC nomination forms effectively concludes all processes relating to the emergence of the APC’s governorship and National Assembly candidates in Gombe State, bringing finality to the party’s internal nomination exercise and reaffirming the legitimacy of the candidates produced through its direct primaries, as contained in a statement signed by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General (Press Affairs), Government House, Gombe.
