The Gombe State Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development, Barr. Sani Ahmad Haruna, has commended the National Orientation Agency (NOA) for its efforts in sensitising and mobilising the public on government policies and programmes.
Haruna made the commendation when the Director of NOA in Gombe State, Hajiya Maimuna Abubakar, and her management team paid a familiarisation visit to the ministry.
The visit was also aimed at congratulating the commissioner on his appointment and strengthening the existing relationship and collaboration between the agency and the ministry.
The commissioner appreciated the NOA director and her team for the visit, describing it as a demonstration of the cordial relationship between government institutions.
He particularly commended the agency for its role in informing, educating and mobilising citizens on government policies, programmes and activities.
Haruna also expressed appreciation to the NOA for choosing the Ministry for Local Government and Community Development as its first point of visit, saying the gesture underscored the importance of collaboration among government agencies.
Earlier, the NOA Director in Gombe State, Hajiya Maimuna Abubakar, congratulated the commissioner on his appointment and wished him success in his new responsibility.
She said the visit was also to reaffirm the agency’s readiness to partner with the ministry and other Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of government to enhance public enlightenment.
According to her, the NOA is a sister agency to other MDAs, with the mandate of informing, educating and orientating citizens on government policies, programmes and activities.
Maimuna assured the commissioner of the agency’s continued cooperation and support towards ensuring effective public enlightenment, mobilisation and orientation across the 24 local government areas and development areas of the state.
In his vote of thanks, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Alhaji Shuaibu Ibrahim, appreciated the NOA director and her management team for the visit and congratulatory gesture.
