Bauchi State command of the National Drugs Law Enforcement A (NDLEA), has declared an unknown person wanted for allegedly stabbing one of its operatives to death.
The Command has published the picture of the unknown person through a wanted person’s notice on various social media platforms.
Reports have it that the late NDLEA operative was stabbed in the stomach on Tuesday while on official duties with others at Anguwan Zango in Tilden Fulani, Toro LGA of Bauchi State.
A resident of the area who spoke to Our Correspondent under cover explained that the unfortunate incident occurred at about 11am in the area.
According to him, “The NDLEA officials had stormed the Zango area of Tilden Fulani where boys used to indulge in smoking weeds and taking other dangerous drugs.*
He added that though he was not at the scene, he was told that the NDLEA operatives arrested one of the boys and were trying to drag him into their vehicle while other boys fought back.
The resident who spoke vide phone conversation said that it was in the process of trying to resist arrest and free the arrested suspect that one of the boys used a sharp object to stab the NDLEA personnel.
He also said that seeing what happened, the boys ran away and escaped leaving the NDLEA operatives at the scene trying to save the life of the stabbed operatives.
An official of the NDLEA at the Command headquarters in Bauchi confirmed the incident but declined to give further information.
Confirming the incident vide a WhatsApp chat, when cont, he simply responded, “Yes, it’s true.*
