The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has won the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency bye-election held on Saturday, 19 September 2026 through its candidate, Engr. Usman Maijama’a Kallamu.
The bye-election was conducted to fill the vacant seat in the House of Representatives following the death of the former representative of the constituency, Hon. Yaya Bauchi Tongo.
As announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), a total of 47,301 votes were cast, out of which 46,551 were valid, while 750 votes were rejected.
The results are as follows: APC – 41,121 votes, LP – 3,553 votes, APM – 872 votes and NDP – 707 votes.
With 41,121 votes, Engr. Usman Maijama’a Kallamu of the APC secured the highest number of votes and emerged winner of the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency bye-election.
The election was conducted across the constituency’s 903 polling units in 31 Registration Areas covering the three Local Government Areas.
