Bauchi State Police Command, has arrested 4 people who committed offences of raping minors including an 28 year old young man who allegedly committed sodomy.
The confirmation was made on Tuesday, by the Command PPRO, SP Nafiu Habib, in a statement he signed and made available to Journalists.
According to the PPRO, the cases were reported from Bauchi, Darazo, and Shira LGAs
According to the reports received at the various Divisional Police Headquarters, the incidents were reported between 19th and 26th June 2026.
Firstly, on 20th June, 2026, a complainant from Wuntin Dada, Jos Road, Bauchi, reported that on 19th June, 2026, one Abdullahi Iliyas, 27-years-old, allegedly lured his 9-year-old sister (name withheld) and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.
In a related development, on 20th June, 2026 at about 2300hrs, a 37-years-old father, staff of General Hospital, Darazo, reported that one Isiyaku Ibrahim aka Malam Abba, 28-years-old, a volunteer staff of IQRA Integrated Academy, Unguwar Dakomazo, allegedly lured his 10-year-old daughter into a classroom between 1200hrs and 1330hrs on 4th June, 2026 and 19th June, 2026 respectively, and sexually assaulted her.
The suspect further threatened to kill her if she disclosed the incident to anyone including her parents.
Furthermore, on 26th June, 2026 at about 1530hrs, a father, 35-years-old, resident of Zubo Village, Shira LGA, reported that his age mate, one Adamu Hassan, of the same address, allegedly had carnal knowledge of his 8-year-old daughter and gave her N50.
In addition to the above incidents, on 26th June, 2026 at about 1100hrs, another father, aged 38, from Gulmo Village, Itas-Gadau LGA, reported that on 25th June, 2026 at about 0830hrs, one Muhammad Sulaiman, 18-years-old, of Unguwar Mu’azu, Doguwa, Yana Town, allegedly took his 4-year-old son into a room and sexually assaulted him through the anus.
Subsequently, upon receipt of the reports, Police operatives visited the scenes, arrested all the suspects, and rushed the victims to Police Clinic Bauchi and General Hospital Shira/Yana for medical examination and treatment.
Meanwhile, preliminary investigations were concluded in all the cases which have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Bauchi, for discreet investigation and prosecution.
CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, condemned the acts in strong terms and described them as inhuman and unacceptable. He reiterated the Command’s commitment to protecting women and children, and assured that the suspects will be diligently prosecuted.
The CP further urged parents, guardians, and school authorities to be vigilant and to promptly report any case of abuse to the nearest police station.
