A political movement known as “Talk to Your Neighbor” group has joined the campaign train of Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, ahead of the 2027 Bauchi South Senatorial District election.
The group made its position known when it paid a courtesy visit to the Director-General of the Senator Bala Mohammed Senatorial Campaign Organization, Mahiru Maiwada, in Bauchi.
The visit was aimed at formally identifying with the campaign and offering support for the governor’s senatorial bid.
Speaking during the visit, Yusuf Garba Alkaleri, who represented the Chairman of the organization, said the group had consulted stakeholders across the seven local government areas of Bauchi South before deciding to join the campaign.
He said the group considered Governor Bala Mohammed’s experience in public service and what he described as tangible development recorded under his administration in Bauchi State as factors behind its decision to support his proposed bid for the senatorial seat.
Yusuf Garba Alkaleri said the group would work closely with the campaign organization and commence grassroots mobilisation across the seven local government areas of the senatorial district. He added that the group was prepared to contribute its knowledge, networks and grassroots connections to the campaign.
Responding, the Director-General of the Senator Bala Mohammed Senatorial Campaign Organization, Mahiru Maiwada, commended the “Talk to Your Neighbor” group for consulting critical stakeholders before joining the campaign. He said the campaign organization would continue to engage stakeholders and establish structures at the local government level.
Maiwada also highlighted Governor Bala Mohammed’s previous public service experience as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and Governor of Bauchi State. He welcomed the group into the campaign structure and assured them of continued engagement as preparations for the 2027 election progress.
