Gombe FRSC confirms death of 6 people, 8 injured in multiple fatal crashes

Gombe State Command of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC), has confirmed the death of Six people in multiple fatal road crashes that occurred at various locations in Gombe State, on Monday.

According to a FIR issued on the crashes by the FRSC, the first crash occurred at RS3.2 Zebra 14, Airport Junction, Gombe.

It occurred on Monday, 12/01/2026 at 1200hrs with time of call put through to FRSC at 1210hrs while time of arrival of personnel was 1325hrs given a response time of 15mins on the Gombe-Bauchi road at Lawanti.

The number of vehicles involved were three which were DAF HOWO, trailer tanker, white in colour used for commercial purposes, Model 30045 in the fleet operators of UMMODA.

The second Vehicle is a Toyota car, red in colour with registration number, AKK 435 CB, used for commercial purposes while the third was Bajaj motorcycle model BM100 with registration number BAU 86 WC.

According to the FIR, ten people, all males were involved in the crash with five variously injured while five males were killed. The type of injuries were head injury, fractures and laceration.

The FRSC confirmed that the cause of the road traffic crash was dangerous driving (DGD).

Part of the action taken by the FRSC was rescue operation carried out in conjunction with NURTW while the injured victims were rushed to Specialist Hospital, Gombe for proper medical treatment.

Meanwhile, the dead bodies were deposited in the same Specialist Hospital mortuary while both vehicles were handed over to the MTD, Amada Division for proper investigation as compiled by
RC HH Kajua, OC Zebra 14.

The second crash also occurred on Monday, at1302hrs, reported time was 1305hrs while the arrival time of personnel was 1310hrs with a
response time of 5Mins on the Gombe Dukku route as the location of after NEPA, before Rumbus.

The crash involved one vehicle, a DAF, trailer, model 95480, white and blue colour with registration number GME501XD.

The number of people involved was 7 Male Adults, people injured variously were 03 Male Adults with fracture, head injuries and bruises while One male adult was killed and 3 others not in any way injured.

The probable cause of RTC according to the FRSC was speed limit violation (SPV) and lost of control (LOC).

The victims were rushed to FTH and General Hospital while the Families of the dead were handed over the deceased as reported by
DRC A Musa.
