The Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago has announced Comrade Yakubu Garba as his running mate for the second term in office under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) come 2027 general elections.
He made the announcement at government house on Monday, calling for peace and warned to restrain from overheating the polity in Niger state.
Governor Bago told his deputy to embrace embrace everybody including those calling for his replacement so as to maintain peace, harmony and peaceful coexistence in the state.
According to him, some people who are expected to bridge peace at this time of security challenges bedeviling the state and Nigeria should avoid overheating the politics in Niger state.
He congratulates his deputy governor Comrade Yakubu Garba for his nomination as his running mate while urging him not to personalized any of those people rather embrace them for the unity and development of the state.
This official announcement has brought to rest the agitation of the governor’s replacement of the present deputy governor for a Christian running mate come 2027 general elections in Niger state.
