Niger Governor Visits Terror-Affected Communities, Vows to Combat Violence

Following the recent terrorists attacks in the Bagna and Erena communities of Shiroro Local Government Area, the  State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Mohammed Bago, visited the affected areas to offer support and condolences.

The Governor was represented by his Deputy, Comrade Yakubu Garba during the occasion  .

In his official remarks, the Deputy governor expressed heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved families and the residents of the communities, describing  the attacks as  tragic attempt by terrorists to disrupt the peace that has been maintained in the region for several years.

He emphasized the incumbent administration’s unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism in parts of Niger State, stressing that “evil is a monster that consumes its orchestrator, and whatever we sow, that we shall reap. Those who challenge our determination to restore peace will face severe consequences.”

Additionally, the governor commended the courage of the armed forces for their prompt response during the attacks and assured them of the government’s dedication to their welfare and the necessary resources to enhance their ability to protect lives and property of the citizens.

He encouraged community and religious leaders, as well as the residents, to remain hopeful, assuring them that government is fully prepared to confront and overcome the challenges posed by violence in the region.
