Niger Information Commissioner felicitates Nigerlites on new year 2026

Hon. Commissioner, Niger State Ministry of Information and Orientation, Hon. Obed Nuhu Nana has extended his warm New Year greetings to all Nigerlites, as they celebrate the new year 2026, praying for peace, prosperity, and divine blessings.

In a statement personally signed by the Commissioner and made available to Journalists in Minna, to mark the forthcoming New Year celebrations, Hon. Nana described the dawn of 2026 as a divine blessing worthy of paying gratitude to Almighty God, just as he calls  on all Nigerlites to embrace the New Year with renewed commitment to love, unity, and peaceful coexistence.

He stated that the New Year should serve as a turning point for deeper mutual understanding and cooperation among the people of the state.

According to him, the Niger State Government, under the visionary leadership of the State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, remains steadfast in its commitment to building a New Niger through ongoing, numerous, and unprecedented infrastructural and socio-economic development initiatives across the state.

The Commissioner further urged residents to refrain from any action capable of undermining the unity, tolerance and peaceful coexistence that  State is known for, whether through traditional platforms or social media.

Hon. Nana emphasized that while citizens have the right to information, such rights must be exercised responsibly, noting that “the right to information is not a right to abuse.”

He thereby called on residents to maintain decorum and uphold ethical standards in all forms of communication.

He however, wished the people of Niger State a memorable and peaceful New Year celebration and prayed for a prosperous, progressive, and united  New Niger State in 2026.
