As part of his efforts to respond quickly on the plights of the people of his constituency,Dr Joshua Audu Gana, representing Lavun, Edati and Mokwa federal constituency at the National assembly last weekend,distributed relief materials to the affected communities of rain storm worth millions of Naira.
In realization of this quick intervention followed the recent motion raised by the Member at the floor of the National assembly Abuja, to enable the communities affected in Lavun, Edati and Mokwa have immediate intervention to ease their sufferigs.
Joshua Gana,who has been highly committed to the welfare of his people in terns of natural disaster has impacted on the lives of his people in the Constituents on several occasions particularly the 2025 Mokwa flood disaster.
The flagged -off for the distribution which was held at Mokwa for the benefits of various communities conveyed by a truck was distributed for the affected communities across the Mokwa Local government Council.
Joshua Gana who has been one of the committed house of representatives member under the platform of the people’s Democratic party PDP is highly principle,since 2023 has refused to decamped to the rulling party APC inspite of mass defection by governors, and at the National assembly.
Addressing the mammoth crowd who expressed joy at Mokwa, Honourable Joshua, said it had become very important in his usual characteristic to immediately raise a motion at the floor of the house to receive the sympathy of the house for immediate intervention and approval.
” This approval was immediately ascented to and was forwarded to Niger State National emergency management agency ( Nsema) for onward distribution to the affected people without delay”
” I have to take this immediate action immediately I received the devastating news which occurred on the 3rd of may2026, the effects of the disaster was so enormous and call for the immediate assistance of the state government”.
According to him he is always very happy for the fact that he is always deeply touched seeing people in this kind of precarious situation to give out what he has as a sign of humanity to mankind,we are all created together by God to show mercy to one another,Dr Joshua remarks.
At this juncture my kind gesture and commitment shall not be deterred by any critics or whipping of sentiment as reaching out to the less privileged is always first to reckon with in my daily life.
” Iam often committed in ensuring that my people are not abandoned in times of challenges particularly like this kind i always like to respond whenever the needs of my people came calling”.
Items distributed to the affected victims includes, bags of Rice, Beans,maize,Mattresses,Blankets,gundnut oils,salt, tomato paste, seasoning cubes,( Maggi) and other conduments to alleviates their sufferings and to boost their standard of living.
Responding on behalf of the Mokwa communities,the Ndalile Mokwa,Alhaji Aliyu Shaba thanked,Dr .Joshua Audu Gana for his tireless efforts in his numerous support to the people when they are in dear need of help.
Ndalile, however prayed for his protection and God guidance and to increase him in abundance, adding that this kind of gesture will no doubt be reciprocated for the sake of humanity.
It would be recalled that on the 3rd of May 2026, rainstorm wreck havock across many communities, destroying homes, farmlands and properties leaving many families at a huge loss,estimated at several millions of Naira ..
. The ceremony was attended by the Ndalilen of Mokwa ,Alhaji Aliyu Shaba, officials from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and NSEMA; the Director of Admin, Constituency Office; Hon. Jacob Saba, Coordinator of Mokwa LGA to Hon. Joshua Audu Gana; Hon. Danlade Mannah, Coordinator Lavun LGA, Hon. Mohammed Nyandalu; security agencies; and other important dignitaries.
