A thanksgiving service was held on Sunday in Aya community, Kaltungo Local Government Area of Gombe State, in honour of retired Permanent Secretary, Mr Mohammed Dantata Ndus.
The service followed his retirement from the Gombe State Civil Service after 35 years of service. The event brought together family members, friends, colleagues, traditional rulers, community leaders and politicians from different political parties.
The thanksgiving service took place at ECWA Church, Aya. In his sermon, the Presiding Pastor, Reverend Kaniel Zakka, described Mr Ndus as a dedicated public servant and a good representative of the church, Aya community and Kaltungo Chiefdom.
After the church service, a reception was held at Kale Primary School. Dignitaries from within and outside Kaltungo Local Government Area attended the event.
Speaking at the event, Mr Ndus thanked the Governor of Gombe State, Dr Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, for the opportunity to serve as a Permanent Secretary.
He also thanked those who attended the programme and prayed for God’s blessings upon them.
A highlight of the event was Mr Ndus’s formal registration into the All Progressives Congress (APC). He was presented with his membership card by party officials in the presence of the House Majority Leader, Yerima Ladan, other lawmakers from Kaltungo West Constituency and party members.
Several speakers, including the Chairman of Kaltungo Local Government Council, Iliya Suleiman; the Mai of Kaltungo, Engr. Sale Mohammed; and the Kaltungo APC Chairman, Ayuba Hassan, praised Mr Ndus for his humility, leadership and contribution to community development.
