Suspected bomb explosives discovered in Niger community

About  three suspected bomb explosives have been discovered in Ganaru community in Zugurma district of Mashegu local government area in Niger state.

It was reliably gathered that the farmers who were going for their farming activities saw the explosive devices planted by the road side and raised alarm on Monday.

The Chairman of Mashegu local government Council, Hon. Jibrin Egade told our Reporter that the arena has been protected from the people to avoid explosion that can lead to casualties.

Jibrin Egade expressed shock over the discovery of such dangerous explosives in the community where there is no security challenges, saying that it was surprising to him and the people, noting, that he has informed the security agencies on the matter.

When contacted, the Commissioner of Police, Niger State Police Command,  CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman confirmed the development, adding that the Command has deployed bomb experts to the scene to ascertain  the situation and possibly  detonate the explosives which he said is one, not as claimed by the villagers.

He urged the people to go about their legitimate businesses without fear of intimidation just as experts have been deployed to ensure the evacuation of the explosive device professionally.

It should however be recalled that, this is coming barely two days after 42 Persons where gruesomely killed by suspected  terrorists groups in some some communities in Borgu local government  area of Niger state.
