A 29-year old man has been arrested by the Bauchi State Police Command allegedly having forced sexual assault of a 14-year-old minor in Guru Village, Bauchi.
According to a report received at ‘B’ Division, GRA, Bauchi, on 15th May 2026 at about 1700 hours, the incident occurred on 14th May 2026 at approximately 0100 hours.
The complainant, a 45-year-old father, reported that his nephew, Sadiq Abubakar Yusuf, allegedly lured his 14-year-old daughter outside their residence and sexually assaulted her.
Upon receipt of the report, police operatives promptly responded, arrested the suspect, and secured the victim for immediate medical attention at the Police Clinic.
The suspect has been investigated and transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, for discreet and thorough investigation and subsequent prosecution.
The Bauchi State Police Command reiterated of its zero-tolerance stance on crimes against minors and women assuring the public that the matter will be handled with the utmost professionalism, sensitivity, and in accordance with the law.
Members of the public were encouraged by CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, to continue reporting any form of abuse or criminal activity to the nearest police station, as contained in a statement signed by SP Nafiu Habib, Police Public Relations Officer.
