7 people killed by armed bandits in Bauchi community

Bauchi State Police Command has confirmed the gruesome killing of Seven people in a fresh attack by armed bandits during a late night raid on Sabon Garin Pali in Alkaleri LGA.

During the raid, several other people were variously injured while scores were abducted by the armed bandits.

The confirmation of the attack was by the Command through its PPRO, SP Nafiu Habib, in a chat with Timely Post News.

According to him, “The situation is under control. Security Operatives are on hunt of the suspects.”

Reports from the area revealed that the armed bandits attacked the village late night of Sunday, shooting sporadically to scare the villagers away as they attacked people from house to house.

A member of the village narrated that they were fast asleep when the armed bandits attacked at midnight catching them unawares.

According the villagers, the armed bandits entered from one house to the other searching for money and killing people in the process for no just cause.

At the end of the operation which lasted for more than two hours, the bandits has killed Six people, injured others and abducted a number of the residents.

According to him, no security operatives came to their rescue as they left at mercy of the armed bandits who took their time to carry out the operation unhindered.

Meanwhile, the funeral prayers of the victims of the banditry was held in the village as led by the Chief Imam of the village while many residents and neighbouring villages in attendance.

At the end of the prayers held in front of the Village Head’s Palace, the bidies were taken to the burial ground for commitance to earth.
