Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has been described as Governor Bala Mohammed as a peace-making Governor, a transparent leader, and arguably the best Governor in the history of the State.
The assertion was made on Sunday, when Christian leaders under the umbrella of the Northern Christian Religious Leaders’ Assembly, (NOCRELA), Bauchi State Chapter, staged a one-day prayer rally in support of the administration of the while also commemorating International Widows’ Day 2026.

The event, themed “Sprayek Rally”, was held at Christ Alive Power Assembly International, behind the CAN Secretariat, Rafin Zurfi, Bauchi, attended by Christians from different denominations.
The rally was organized by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Executive Governor of Bauchi State on Christian Religious Affairs, in partnership with NOCRELA Bauchi State Chapter.
The gathering brought together Pastors, Christian leaders, widows, and citizens in a united session of prayers for peace, unity, and good governance in Bauchi State.
Speaking as host, the Senior Special Assistant on Christian Religious Affairs and Chairman, NOCRELA Bauchi, Pst. Dr. Zakka Luka Magaji, described the relative peace in the State since 2019 as unprecedented in the history of the state.
According to him, “Bala Mohammed has demonstrated good leadership through inclusive governance ensuring that not section was marginalized based on tribe or religion.”
He added that all areas in the State that were earlier neglected by past administration for perceived religious bias have been touched by the present administration.

The prayer session featured intercessions by top Clerics including Rev. Promise Nuhu Yohanna, State Vice Chairman, NOCRELA, who led prayers of thanksgiving to God for the last Seven years of Gov. Bala’ Mohammed’s administration, as well as for the State Executive Council and ongoing developmental projects.
Bishop Emmanuel C. Kanti prayed for a successful end to the Governor’s tenure and for his ambition as the Senator for Bauchi South Senatorial District in the 2027 elections.
Rev. Father Vincent Bature offered prayers for the APM gubernatorial aspirant, Hon. Yakubu Adamu, and his running mate, Hon. Mahmud Babamaji while Rev. Mathew Wakili Laslimbo prayed for sustainable peace and security across Bauchi State.
Rev. Dauda Jimra led prayers for a peaceful, free, and fair general election in 2027, from presidential to state level, devoid of violence and manipulation.
In line with International Widows’ Day, Pst. Zakka Magaji distributed bags of rice, maize, and cash gifts to over 120 widows and orphans drawn from across Bauchi State.
The programme opened with an opening prayer by Prof. Collins Agbong David, State Prayer Coordinator, NOCRELA, followed by worship and praise ministration by the Church band while Superior Apostle Okere offered the closing prayer.
Rev. Promise Nuhu Yohanna gave the vote of thanks, as NOCRELA expressed gratitude to all participants stressing the importance of unity of the body of Christ in the State.
