Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has expressed deep sadness over the death of elder statesman and distinguished administrator, Alhaji Yayari Abubakar Sambo, who passed away in Abuja after a protracted illness.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya described the deceased as a highly respected figure who rendered meritorious service to the State and the nation.
According to him, the late Y.A Sambo’s contributions did not end with his retirement from the civil service, as he continued to devote his time, experience and wisdom to the development of his community and the wellbeing of those around him.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya also acknowledged the enduring legacy of the deceased in the exemplary family he raised, observing that his children and other members of his family have continued to contribute meaningfully to the development of Gombe State and the nation.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya said the death of Alhaji Yayari Abubakar Sambo was a profound loss not only to his immediate family, but also to Gombe State, particularly at a time when the experience, wisdom and guidance of elders remain invaluable to society.
He extended his heartfelt condolences to the Wazirin Gombe, Dr. Isa Jalo and, through him, the entire Waziri family, over the painful loss.
The Governor also particularly commiserated with the daughter of the deceased, Hajiya Maimuna Y. Abubakar, Founder and Managing Director of Tozali Media Services, publishers of Tozali Magazine and operators of Tozali TV, as well as her siblings and other members of the bereaved family.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya urged them to take solace in the enduring values, accomplishments and legacy of their departed patriarch.
He prayed Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, accept his good deeds and reward his lifetime of service with Aljannatul Firdaus, as contained in a statement signed by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General (Press Affairs), Government House, Gombe.
