Borgu Chairperson Calls for Urgent Federal Action Over Abduction of Worshippers in Dekara

​The Executive Chairperson, Borgu Local Government Council in Niger State, Hon. Abdullahi Mohammed Nasir, has raised an urgent alarm following the abduction of worshippers in the Dekara community of the Council area by armed bandits.

He is therefore calling for immediate intervention from the Federal ,State Governments and security authorities to secure their release.

​Speaking during an interview with Newsmen at the weekend,   the Council Boss made an urgent and   direct appeal to the Federal Government and relevant security agencies to intensify rescue operations and restore safety to affected residents.

​Abdullahi Nasir highlighted the growing threat posed by the vast forest areas surrounding Borgu Emirate, noting that criminal elements are exploiting the dense terrain as hideouts for criminal elements   to launch attacks and conduct kidnappings.

​To tackle the escalating insecurity, the Council Chairperson urged security forces to bolster their presence across vulnerable communities, particularly those bordering the forest zones.

​According to him, ”Securing the immediate release of the abductees must be treated as a matter of top priority,”

He emphasized and called for long-term strategic security measures to prevent recurring attacks.

​He further reassured the people of Borgu that the local government administration remains committed to collaborating with security agencies, traditional leaders, and key stakeholders to safeguard lives and property across the region.
