The Forum of Mokwa Local Government Civil Servants Domiciled in Minna the Niger State Capital has unveiled an ambitious development agenda focused on education, healthcare and security, as members pledged to deploy their collective expertise and resources towards the advancement of Mokwa Local Government Area.
The commitment was made on Saturday, September 5, 2026, during the forum’s general meeting held at the School of Technical Lecture Hall, Niger State College of Education, Minna.
The meeting attracted prominent indigenes and professionals from Mokwa Local Government, including Professor Abdulkarim of the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMinna), Dr. Isah Jebba of the Niger State College of Education, Minna, and Comrade Usman Chiji, Secretary of the Niger State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), among other distinguished members.
Declaring the meeting open, the Chairman of the Forum, Dr. Isah Jebba, said the establishment of the association was driven by the need to unite Mokwa civil servants residents in Minna and create a formidable platform through which members could contribute to the socio-economic development of their local government.
He said the forum would provide an avenue for members to share ideas, professional expertise and experiences while collectively addressing issues capable of advancing the welfare and development of the people of Mokwa.
A major highlight of the meeting was the presentation of the forum’s certificate of registration to the congress by the chairman. Dr. Jebba expressed appreciation to the Executive Chairman of Mokwa Local Government, Ambassador Jibrin Muregi, for his support and numerous efforts towards facilitating the registration of the forum.
He described the registration as an important milestone that would enable the association to operate within a recognised institutional framework and pursue its development-oriented objectives.
Also speaking, Professor Abdulkarim called for greater unity, discipline and commitment among members, stressing that the success of the forum would depend largely on their ability to work together and remain focused on its objectives.
He urged members to adhere strictly to the forum’s programmes and activities, while applying wisdom, tolerance and constructive engagement in addressing issues that affect the community.
In line with the resolutions reached at the meeting, education, healthcare and security were identified as the three priority areas through which the forum would commence its community development interventions.
To translate the resolutions into concrete action, the congress inaugurated a five-member committee saddled with the responsibility of drafting the constitution of the forum.
Another seven-member committee was also inaugurated to identify critical challenges in education, healthcare and security and recommend practical and sustainable interventions through which the forum could make meaningful contributions.
The meeting ended on a note of renewed solidarity, with members reaffirming their commitment to building a united and purposeful association capable of contributing positively to the development of Mokwa Local Government.
Meanwhile,the forum’s emergence is expected to provide a platform for the wealth of professional knowledge and experience possessed by Mokwa indigenes working and residing in Minna to be channelled towards addressing critical developmental challenges in their home local government.
