Bauchi 2027 guber: Group drags Sen Gumba to join race

A retired Customs officer, Sen Adamu Ibrahim Gumba has been urged to join the list of aspirants for the seat of Governor of Bauchi State in the 2027 general elections.

The call on him to join the race was made during a Press Conference addressed by Malam Danlami Danfulani, under the umbrella of Kuyambanan Bauchi Campaign Organization -2027, held at the NUJ Press Center on Sunday.

He stated that, “Let me first and foremost welcome all of you to this all important gathering, where I intend to brief you and reveal my stand on the present political development and challenges facing our dear state, Bauchi.”

He added, I am addressing you today on behalf of the following organizations: Gumba Support Group Youths and Women Gumba Support Group, Kuyambana House to House Campaign Organization, Concerned Citizens of Bauchi State, Artisans and Traders Association, Road Transport Association, and Association of Professionals and Intellectuals.”

“It is gladdening to note that the aforementioned groups of like-minds, have observed with great concerned the numerous challenges and social ills facing Bauchi State and the need to search for a workable solution come 2027,” he added.

According to him, “In Bauchi State, we are proud to beat our chests and say no well meaning citizens of the state will doubt the visible and clearly seen excellent performance of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammed in the areas of capital projects and human developments. Even the most Doubting Thomas’s can attest to that.”

Danlami Danfulani added, “However, as a human being, there are areas that would be required to be improved and sustained after the present governor has completed his tenure and left.”

He added that, “After thorough and indebt thought, we realized that the best person to continue from where Governor Bala Muhammed will stop, is Senator Adamu Ibrahim Gumba, (Kuyambanan Bauchi).”

According to him, “This is because, we have noticed that he is blessed with many qualities as a leader which include: ability and leadership experience to take Bauchi State to greater heights. Senator Adamu Ibrahim Gumba (Kuyambanan Bauchi), is a man of integrity and respect that cares for the concerns of the downtrodden, irrespective of any differences.”

On why Senator Gumba, he stated that,”Senator Adamu Ibrahim Gumba is an administrator per excellence, a philantrophist, a traditional leader and a successful leader. He rose through the ranks in the public and political circles. He was an administrative officer with the State Civil Service before transferring his services to the federal government where he rose to the higher rank of Deputy Director General, Nigeria Customs Service.”

He added that,”Senator Gumba was appointed as the Head of Civil Service of Bauchi State, Commissioner of Education and he was twice elected as Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria where he served in various committees, including Chairman of Sports Committee of the Nigerian Senate.”

He also stated that,”We are gathered here, speaking the minds of Like-Minds and the good people of Bauchi State, to appeal to Senator Adamu Ibrahim Gumba, to answer our clarion call to declare his interest and contest for the seat of Bauchi State Governor in the 2027 General Elections.”

“We are passionately making this call having known the capacity and capability of Senator Gumba, who has been serving the people of Bauchi, even before the creation of the state in 1976,” he added.

While urging the PDP family in Bauchi state and the electorate to consider the plea, he assured them that with the huge experience he garnered, Senator Gumba will surely take Bauchi State to the next level, if given the onerous opportunity to serve as the State Chief Executive.
