Impressed with the excellent performances of the first set of students of the Gifted Schools to write the UTME of Joint Examination Matriculation Board (JAMB), the Member of the House of Representatives, representing Darazo-Ganjuwa Federal Constituency, of Bauchi State, Hon. Mansur Manu Soro, has offered educational sponsorships to Hamisu Ibrahim and other outstanding students.
This was contained in a statement he personally signed and issued to Journalists in Bauchi on Monday.
Mansur Manu Soro, expressed delight over the performance of Hamisu Ibrahim, a student of Gifted School, Darazo, who scored 213 in the just-concluded JAMB examination.
The Federal Lawmaker announced scholarships for him and all other Gifted School students who scored 180 and above..
“So we are considering a benchmark of 180 marks for my scholarship, but here we are with some of the students scoring above that bench mark. We are really delighted to have such a wonderful result,” Manu Soro added.
He recalled that in 2021, his office established four Gifted Secondary Schools in Sade, Soro, Darazo, and Kafin Madaki, alongside a Special Primary School in Lanzai, as part of the efforts to strengthen both primary and secondary education in the Darazo-Ganjuwa Federal Constituency.
According to him, the tuition-free, merit-based schools provide students with complete learning materials annually and periodic stipends to support their welfare.
Manu Soro further noted that in 2025, he expanded his educational interventions to the tertiary level by facilitating the establishment of a National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) study centre in Soro, Darazo local government area.
He emphasised that, investment in education remains the most valuable investment any society can make.
According to him, “By this notice, the management of the four Gifted Schools is requested to review the JAMB results of their graduating students and forward the details of those who meet the criteria for necessary action.”
He prayed for the continued success of the students in their academic pursuits assuring that his Foundation will continue to support the growth and development of the schools as complement to what the State Government is doing.
